Hello,
As a newbie I'm really puzzled. I am attempting to back up a movie using DVD Decrypter. I have uploaded the film in F mode successfully but when I try to burn to a new disc I find that the files, e.g., VOB files, are not supported. Clearly I'm doing something wrong but what? Advice would be appreciated.

Use ISO read mode and then ISO write mode to burn the image. That will be fine if you want just a straight copy.

Hi!

As an alternative, you can use IMGBurn in "Build" mode to burn the "VIDEO_TS" folder...

DVD Decrypter is old, it doesn't support newer copy protection. Try DVDFab HD Decrypter which is free and constantly updated. It does DVD as well as new high definition disk formats.

If you have Nero 7, you can updated it free of charge to any Nero 7 version (currently 7.9.6.0). The trial download works as an update download as well.

The reason why I say this is that it includes Nero Recode, which can be used to Recode the decrypted DVD from dual-layer size to a single layer size. You can then burn it back onto a DVD.

Nero 7 includes a lot of stuff, remember to deselect what you don't want (otherwise its a space hog). Most people only really need Nero 7 and Nero Recode!
