I'm trying to get a divx to play on Mac OS X. I have the DivX 4.12 decoder installed. The video plays fine, but there is no audio. The audio is MP3. Is there anything special I have to do to get the it to work?

Buy a PC...
But seriously, you could try divx 3.11 or install another audio codec. Since i have used a mac only twice in my life i can't really help you with any of the inner workings such as how to tweak these things...
http://www.divx-digest.com/software/divxcodec_mac.html divx for mac was part of the opendivx project
3ivx which does support quicktime is another thing you could try http://www.3ivx.com/codec/3ivx_D3.5_OSX.dmg.sit
Hope this helps.
Edit: Doh, didn't notice the double post

Ahhh.. I envy you man. If I only I could go back to the much simpler days of a Mac OS :-)
Since your running the UNIX kernel you should prolly take a look at the Linux pages and they can get you up and running. I hear it runs really well on OS X but I've never tried.
