Hi,
I am having trouble burning VOB files on Nero version 7. Everytime I add the VOB file the video skips at exactly one minute into the clip, then again at the 2 minute mark, etc.
My first question is does anyone else have this problem, and have a solution?
My second question is are there any other programs people would recommend? My main goal is to take videos I recorded on television with my DVD burner, and edit out the commercials and burn them onto a new disc.
Thanks

Hi!
1) What software and procedures did you use to create this .VOB?
2) Is it actually a .VOB or is it a "plain vanilla" MPEG-2 file?
3) Have you played this .VOB, before trying to create a DVD? Does it play properly on your PC?

Hi!

1) I created the first DVD using a Toshiba DVD recorder that connects to the television.
2) I'm really not all that good with the terminology, but when I select the clip off of Nero, it says "VTS_04_1.VOB" so I think it's a VOB file. I may be misunderstanding something though.
3) It does play properly on my PC. It's just when I load the clip on Nero that it starts to do the skipping. It's almost as though the video gets chopped up into one minute segments for editing purposes, but then when I'm done, it puts a two tenths of a second pause between each one minute segment.
I've tried getting an update on Nero, but that doesn't seem to do it. I may look into buying a program that will do the job, but I'm hesitant on buying anything until I know if it works.

You might want to see if "ChopperXP" serves your editing needs...

Thanks. I think I'll give that a try. It looks like it will do the editing job, and I like the fact it doesn't harm the quality.

@vanman
Contrary to the statement made by "SvT", "ChopperXP" is NOT simply "a google search string." - it is a program for cutting clips directly from DVD .VOB files...

That's just a not-so-subtle way of saying :search: before posting. It's better to come back with specific questions than generic ones that are easy to find.
