How to make xvid of VTS with multiple pgcs?

Hi,

I'm trying to make an xvid of the extras of a movie. They consist of a lot of interviews, each one of them in a different PGC. You can see them separatedly or with the "play all" button.

The thing is when I rip the pgc that branches all, the resulting xvid has the audio out of sync.
But ripping all the pgcs separatedly and making a different xvid from each one is a lot of work.

Is there a way to quick reauthor that vts or to rip it in some way that I can get just an Xvid with all the interviews (pgcs) on it.

Hi!The thing is when I rip the pgc that branches all, the resulting xvid has the audio out of sync.Load the file into VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod, or NanDub.
Set BOTH "Video"(VirtualDub,
VirtualDubMod and NanDub) and "Audio"
(VirtualDub and NanDub - VirtualDubMOD>"Streams>"Stream
list") to "Direct Stream Copy".

A) If the difference between audio and video is constant
throughout the video:

From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Interleaving" (For
VirtualDubMOD, rightclick on the listed audiostream and then
select "Interleaving")

Under "Audio skew correction", set an appropriate number of
milliseconds (positive or negative) in the box labelled "Delay
audio track by"

Save with a new filename

B) If the difference increases as the movie plays:

From under the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Framerate" -
and select "Change so video and audio durations match"

Save with a new filename

The thing is I couldn't fix the out of synch with virtualdub.

I think this issue has to do with the fact that the pgcs are not really all together. When I load this dvd in dvdremake I see 8 pgcs corresponding to the 8 interviews and a 9 last pgc that is kind of virtual (I mean it's not real, I can't delete it and the size of the dvd is the same, it's just that they authored the dvd using seamless branching or something like that, I forgot the name). This 9 pgc is the one that puts the 8together if you want to watch them on a row, and if I rip this one and converted it to divx the audio is a real mess and I can't fix it.

When I tried the first method it only fixed the sync for the first minutes.

The second method didn't fix anything.

I'm afraid the problem has to do with the way these dvd extras were authored. It seems that the "play all" option is very common in dvds, but I had never before tried to make an xvid from it. Maybe they poses always this sync problem.

The only solution I can think of now is to rip each pgc separatedly, or trying to find a way to reauthor this part joining all these pgcs in just one. But I found no information about joining pgcs, each one with its three streams (video, audio and subtitles), into one only pgc that would be the sum of all of them. It sounds like a fantasy, something impossible.

When you play the rip of the "pgc that branches all", is the audio/video difference constant throughout the playback, or does it increase as the movie plays?

If each of those pgc has a (different) audio delay, it's almost an mission impossible because joining the AVIs probably won't work either. Yet, you can perform audio delay, clip trimming, joining, etc. all within one single AVS and then to encode that final AVS. It may work.
