Premiere Pro CS3 Beta Available [Archive]

Hey all,

Just thought I would post that Adobe has a free public beta for Premiere 3 available.

Some very nice improvements, especially to its multiclip engine, which can now handle real-time playback of 3 simultaneous DV streams from a single SATA drive (on my system) whereas Premiere Pro 2 totally choked.

With thses limitations on the preview (among others):

# HDV editing: there is no support for capture, edit or output of HDV content.
# MPEG-2 files cannot be imported or exported.
# H.264 files cannot be imported or exported.
# MP3 audio files cannot be imported or exported.
# AAC and AAC+ audio files cannot be exported.

One of the improvements in CS3 that they tout is direct-to-DVD rendering. Without being able to export MPEG2 I don't see how they will be able to collect any meaningful feedback on that functionality.
