Hey guys,

It's me again. I'm working on this project that I need to get done really soon. I need to convert a SWF video that I got off the net into an AVI file. I just need it to play out once, it doesn't have to loop or anything. Then I need to stick it in Premiere Pro v2.

Is there any way to convert it to AVI with the MPEG-4?

There are 4 of them:

Create the following avisynth script and it should open the swf on virtualdub/mod and be able to convert it o a more friendly format

DirectShowSource("c:\gw_scene_1.swf")

I tried that, but I'm getting a directshow error that it's not supported or somethin...?

It's still not working. could somebody please download it (it's like 13 kb) and try to convert it, and then tell me what program you used?

You can try with Super (http://updat1.free.fr/9AA2DDDEEE4E07DE98DB54FF/SUPERsetup.exe) by eRight Soft, it's free and does everything you need.

Funny you should mention that, that's the very first program I tried, before I asked on this forum.

Maybe I don't have the right codec on the computer? The only program that opens the file is Firefox or IE. Even VLC doesn't play it. Could somebody actually download it and check if it works on their computer, it's only 13 kb each.

Well... actually "Media Player Classic" is able to play swf files. Did you try it?

I didn't try media player classic. But that would only play it, I need to convert it to a format the Premiere will accept.

Try capturing the video with CamStudio.

You can try http://www.geovid.com/Flash_To_Video_Encoder/ for it. I can advice to try you trial version without time limit for check converting your file.
