sync avi with mp3

Okay, here it commes:
I'm very new with nandub and I face a little problem. After completing the 2nd pass I had to add the vbr mp3 (avi and mp3 have the same length) however when I do this with nandub audio is completely out of sync. I can't seem to find out where I went wrong and if this is the right forum to post this thread. Please help me out here. As far as I know I set the audio delay correctly to -95ms as the ac3 file showed. Thx in advance.

Hi-Yeah, this is the right forum. I don't know if this is the problem, but it will cause the problem. When you decrypted the DVD, did you use Smart Ripper, and did you do it in Movie Mode? If you used File Mode, you'll wind up with stuff before the beginning of the real movie (such as the FBI warning), and there goes your audio synch.

Or you could try muxing the sound in again (with the -95 ms. delay) to see if that fixes it. Just Direct Stream the audio and video, put in the sound in the VBR Audio tab, and save it under a different name.

There's probably something fundamentally wrong if the synch is way off, but if you want to try and fix it yourself, then go find Doom9's Virtual Dub guide in the Guides section, and there's a section on fixing asynch.

Yup sync is way of i guess a couple of minutes in the end:confused:
i tried several settings with muxing nothing really worked out. It starts quite okay however but already in the 1st minute it loses sync. I'm now starting all over again. see what that brings me I used this guide: http://www.med.uoc.gr/~diamantop/divx/divx-01.html
perhaps something is wrong in it... first see what this brings me.

If your using the SoundBlaster some users have reported having to use funky interleave settings for the sound to properly sync. Settings that I've seean are 64/64 and 96/96. It's a worth a shot if you haven't tried it yet.
