I am trying to capture live audio via line-in on the sound card, then output this via line-out/spkr-out normalized. The outputted sound will go to a separate stand-alone audio input [via 3.5mm stereo to RCA] device. The input sound is always changing from quiet to extremely loud thus the reason.
Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) has a nice option called "Software Playthrough" (http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=General_Tips#Real_Time_Monitoring) and HarddiskOgg (http://www.fridgesoft.de/harddiskogg.php) has a nice option called "Smart Normalization"
But Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) doesn't have "Smart Normalization" and HarddiskOgg (http://www.fridgesoft.de/harddiskogg.php) doesn't have "Software Playthrough" (http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=General_Tips#Real_Time_Monitoring) so unfortunately, I can't perform this function.
Maybe some of you will say, well why don't you just adjust your input levels? I don't really know how to answer this question, just its not really possible.........
Anyway! I hope someone can recommend some good software, or a way to do this live normalization, if you can understand what I'm saying!
BTW
Maybe there is a stand-alone device that will [automatically] normalize [via RCA] live audio?
:thanks:
