Scenarist adds an extra frame?

Can anyone tell me why Scenarist likes to add an extra frame fot play durations of all my assets? When I bring in a 3 (00:03:00) second clip, Scenarist plays it for 3 seconds, 1 frame (00:03:01). Does anyone know why?

My guess is that, having played the last frame of the 3-second clip, it is at the position of the beginning of where the next frame would begin, if it were there to be played.
