I am looking for a way to take line in on one audio card from cable box source, which can be mono or stereo and auto convert everything to stereo in real time and feed it back out to second card that has on board DD 5.1 encoding.
I can use a program called VAC, Virtual Audio Cable that will send card A's audio to card B's but can not convert mono to stereo so hardware 5.1 encodes only play out of just the left or just the right.
So I am wondering if anyone has come across a program that can do what VAC does but allow for some manipulation of the sound like stereo conversion in real time?
Thanks
