I have a very large (7gig) uncompressed video that i'm trying to compress using XviD. All the editing was done in Sony Vegas and exported.

Here are the video settings:

Width: 550
height: 425
Frame Rate: 29
Video sample size:32 bit

I haven't adjusted any settings in virtual dub besides the xvid bit rate slider. All my videos exported from Sony Vegas have worked in the past. Not sure why they aren't now. Any help would be appreciated

@medley

Hi!

1) How was the original (7Gb) .AVI created?

2) Does the original .AVI play
properly?

3) Does the file, as modified by SONY Vegas, play properly?

1. The avi footage itself was created using Fraps. Its a capturing device for pc games. I put the avi files together like in a compilation using sony vegas and simply exported them using normal settings

2. yep. Windows media player plays it fine (even at 7gig haha)

3. Yep. Both original content plays fine (i.e. the footage used in my compilation movie.)

Doesn't the video resolution has to be at least mod2 to be compressed with XviD (YV12 colorspace) ? Try resampling the movie to 550x424 before compressing.

@medley

1) I believe "Milvus" may have identified your root problem.

2) Why use SONY Vegas at all for this task, when you can simply use VirtualDub to append all files to one at thesame time you are converting to XviD?
