View Full Version : Extracting first portion of a corrupt VOB file

I have a DVD in which the last VOB file has been corrupted due to scratches. Its total duration is 24 minutes but while playing it, it always gets stuck after 15 minutes of playback. The last several minutes are mostly cast and credits so I can do without it.
Is there a way I can extract the first portion by using mark in mark out or timeline? Any DVD ripper I use tries to analyze the whole file when selected and hangs on the scratched part. What tool do I need to do so, as it seems possible logically. Also, considering I am a newbie, please point towards the easiest way.
Thanks for your time.

Hi!

DVDFab Decrypter (freeware) should be able to process the DVD - by replacing unreadable sectors with "dummy" sectors...

By the way, what is the Title and Region of this 24 minute DVD (Or are you saying the last .VOB is 24 minutes long)?

**EDIT** If the DVD has no copy protection, try using "ISOPuzzle" to actually recover the bad sectors!
