I am having problems getting aacskeys / dumpvid etc to work . The only program that works for me is DumpHD . Using XP / vista ( not directly connected to the internet - so files on my system may be out of date ) .
Are there any additional programs / files that I need to download in order for them to work - downloaded latest version of Sun Java in order to get DumpHD to work .

Cheers

Might help, if you add a little more information? ;)

"unable to get them to work" is like writing a recipe: "use meat and vegetables, then cook".

To start with, aacskeys and dumpvid are not the substitute for the DumpHD. You use aacskeys and dumpvid to obtain the information which is necessary for the DumpHD to work.

I had a problem yesterday with aacskeys, but only because I forgot to install Toshiba UDF 2.5 drivers on my new XP machine.

Does it ring any bells?

I have been unable to get the Toshiba UDF drivers to install either on XP or XP 64 . Forget the errors but on 64 said something about the OS being old . Redownloaded SP2 and will rerun it tonight . XP is running SP2 . Using demo of AnyDVD for UDF driver at the moment . When I try to install aacskeys or dumpvid , neither will install - the box shows up briefly but disapears before I can read any of it . I can get DumpHD to work ( as mentioned - downloaded latest version of Sun Java to get that to work ) , but as neither aacskeys or dumpvid will work I am unable to get any of the associated keys .
Cheers for any assistance .

AACSKeys and DumpVID are console applications (DumpHD too but it also has a GUI), there is no GUI, you have to start them from a console window and supply the proper command line.

..and "console" means "MS-DOS" window in XP and can be started by selecting "Accessories"-"MS-DOS" from the Programs bar...

AnyDVD has a UDF2.5 file system built-in, but only for its own use (so AnyDVD HD can access BD/HD without relying on an additional UDF2.5 driver).
But it doesn't expose the file system to Windows, that would require an additional file system driver.

This is absolutely correct. That's how AnyDVD fooled me to presume I have the file system in place already.

And yes, UDF 2.5 driver is required if you want to access HD DVD files either with Windows Eplorer or aacskeys.

The OP problem with the Toshiba 2.5 UDF might be caused by Nero InCD being installed on his system. I recall someone complaining here up until he removed InCD from his machine.

Don't remember if I have any nero program running on XP 64 , but I reinstalled XP 64 yesterday . Will install SP2 later then retry the toshiba UDF 2.5 driver . What are the console commands for aasckeys ? Can't remember reading them before in the threads . Cheers for the help so far .

Cheers , never looked close enough at the first screenshot of the thread . Hopefully once I get XP64 reinstalled all should be good .
