View Full Version : Problem editing WMV file
Hi,
I'm trying to edit a wmv file contains stuck (frozen) frames. I want to cut these bad segments out. Anyone knows a good method/software, please suggest.
:thanks:

Convert your WMV file to an AVI file (i.e. with WMM) and then try to edit it with VirtualDub.
Thanks. Will try that. I tried editing with WMM but had the same problem. Hopefully, converting will work. Will post back whether it works or not.
:thanks:
Using WMM to convert to avi does not work either. The conversion stuck after a few seconds. I even trimmed the movie to just 30 seconds long to test converting.

Hi!
You might want to load the file into GSpot and post a screen capture back here...
Here is the screen shot of GSpot on the problem wmv file.
Thanks.

Looks like the required codecs are either disabled or corrupt ("Codec status undetermined)...
Is there a way to fix this? Thanks!
try Cut Assistant (http://download.videohelp.com/download/Cut_assistant_0.9.9.5.zip)
if you wish you can also try the file repair option in it

If my supposition above is correct, simply uninstall and reinstall the codecs (audio and video) that you used to create the original file...
