When trying to run dvds on my internal dvd player they just wont work. i have a demo directdvd 3.1 player and win media player. The dvd player will read the dvd.

the computer shows the unit up as ok

the following info is in device manager

General

Device: CDROM
Hardware version: ( no available )
Device status: Working correctly

Driver

Provider: Microsoft
Date: 4-23-1999


Do i need to download the software for the DVD player which is a

Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-104F

This computer was built for me that is why i have no drivers

There is no need for a drivers, I'am sure you'll be able to read properly your DVD if you use a better Software DVD player IMHO PowerDVD or WinDVD.
