Have things progressed enough that someone has put together a guide for ripping an HDDVD and making an MKV file out of the feature movie w/ audio/video/subtitles?

If so could someone please point to to it?

Thanks for any help.

I think we're lacking a tool like DGIndex to decode the stream. If I'm wrong where is it?

EVOdemux+DGAVCDecode, but that won't work with VC1 obviously. Since the vast majority have been VC1, which is the real hassle now, that's pretty cold comfort.

This is how I do it, without any reencoding. So it is the full quality mkv without that can be played in any direct show player:

1. Rip complete HD-DVD with AnyHD DVD.
2. Rebuild the main movie two big evo files into one with EVOdemux.
3. In graphedit while using Haali media splitter and Haali media muxer demux the big evo file into movie_name.mkv.
4. Demux subtitles with EVOdemux.
5. OCR the subtitles with SUPrip.
6. Get txt with chapters from EVOdemux.
7. Mux subtitles and chapters with the mkv from step 3 in MKVmerge.

I appreciate the relpies.

I will try out your steps and see if I can get it to work.
I'm trying to find all the programs now, but can't find SUPrip.

Did you mean SubRip?

OK So far I got the video from an EVO file on one of my discs to play (it was VC1 encoded) it also had a DD+ audio stream. The movie won't play if I add the audio stream into the mkv file.

I assume this is because I don't have a directshow decoder for DD+. Is there one available? If not, is there a way to get sound to work?

Thanks for any help guys.

SUPread is available here: http://pel.hu/down/SUPread.exe

Sonic Audio Decoder 4.2 available in Sonic Scenarist 4.2 decodes DD+.
