Hi. I usually work with TMPGenc Plus and CCE.
My question, which hasn't been answered in FAQ, is this:
since AVI pixels are 1:1 whereas DVD are either 4:3 or 16:9 , if I choose the templates 'PAL DVD' I am forced to choose either :3 oe 16:9.
But, since AVI have VGA pixels and have been built to show the same picture of the original movie, so resizing any 720x576 movie in either:
- (4*N)x(3*N) for 4:3 DVD
or
- (16*N)x(9*N) for 16*9 DVD
My question is: when I encode back AVI --> DVD, shouldn't I choose to create MPV (M2V) VGA pixels?
When I did such I seemed to see a correct movie, even if some aurhoring application (like DVD Lab) gave me some warning (only warnings, luckily), telling me that uaually DVD are either 4_3 or 16_9. Muxman didn't even accept as input 1:1 DVD movies!
Although that, I observed that if I choosed some 'standard' pixels aspect ratio, I would obtain a 'deformed' DVD, since when the 4:3 (16:9) DVD was transformed into an AVI (which is 1:1), the original DVD wasn't resized keeping A/R.
So, I assumed 1:1 SAR should be always kept.
Am I correct?
