Sony ARccOS!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY!?!? I carn't copy any dvd with sony's new ARccOS protection. Any help would be greatly appreciated. One such example would be The Da Vinci Code.

Not being able to copy something is sorta the point of copy protection, eh?

Hope it all works out good for you! Ripit4Me's development was shut down, but still seems to cut through everything I throw at it. DVDFab is continiously updated and still in active development, so if something makes Ripit4Me choke, it may be worth trying with 'Fab. So far, however, Ripit4Me still works like a charm.

I can't blame Sony for trying, but I happen to agree with Doom9 that once a consumer buys something, how they use it should be their business. In trying to prevent piracy, they're angering legitament customers by treating us all like criminals.

But if it weren't for them, a lot of talented programers would have to be doing something else, right? (Actually, they'd probably like to be doing something else. But thanks, anyway, guys/gals!)

Not sure if it's ripit4me, but so far two of my new dvds will not rip with ripit4me, Queen and Venus, both come up with a dirty or scratched dvd and I know they are brand new, even exchanged Queen and it still wouldn't work. I am trying dvdfab with Venus now
see if that works. I loved ripit4me easy to use, fast efficient too bad its production was stopped, although out there somewhere it's probably been driven underground and those in the group are still enjoying the benefits of it. Wish I was a member of that "group". thanks for everyones help.

Actually, I do blame for Sony (and all the other studios) for trying. It's a waste of their time and money and a waste of the consumers time and money. I blame Sony even more for using yet another 'copy protection' system.

Think about the first screen you see when you play a legitimate DVD. Usually its some FBI/Interpol warning about copying. No "Thanks for buying the DVD and supporting thousands of hard working people. Enjoy the movie". Nope, you get a warning about copyright infringement. What a wonderful way for the media companies to show their appreciation for legally buying their product. Even 'evil' Wal-mart says "thank you" at the bottom of their receipts.

I couldn't agree more with what you said my friend!!!!!
I have a large collection of legaly purchased DVD titles, and most of them make me feel like I am a criminal!!!!

If this is "their" way of saying thank you to me.....then I must me knocking on the wrong door all those years.....
