Xbox 360 HD-DVD Update?

Any harm in allowing the 360 HD-DVD drive to take the recently released update? I haven't seen any confirmation either way that it is safe or not safe to update the drive in terms of being able to use it with a PC and be able to decrypt discs, etc.

I wouldn't do it just to be safe, mine gets unplugged when im not watching a movie just cause ya never know....

it's only a software update for the player to version 2.0.4629.0

the firmware on the hd-dvd-drive is exactly the same as before the update (i've made a flash dump befor the update and after it and compared them)
