about real alternative

hi guys. Please help me with a small questions about real alternative.
i read on the download page that
"The RealMedia DirectShow splitter does not work with streaming content. You must use the included Media Player Classic to play streaming content."

so does it mean i cannot view real media streaming content on website? or what does it really mean?
