Hello all!

I searched the forum and couldn't find an answer to my problem (I think) So there goes my first post...

I created uncompresed avi clips out of a vob file using VirtualDubMod but I can't play them in Windows Media Player. They work kinda ok in VLC player except for the first few seconds. The clips are resized and without sound.

I can't understand what the problem is. They used to play without a problem. Can anyone help me with this?

Hi!

Load one of these .AVI clips into GSpot and post a screen capture back here...

BTW - The clips must be HUGE, if they're truly uncompressed!

Thank you for offering to help me! The files are certainly huge.

That is, in fact, an Uncompressed .AVI with no audio.

Chances are your system is unable (as would also be many systems) to handle the tremendous overhead required to process uncompressed video.

There are many excellent codecs available that can yield excellent results when compressing your video.

What is the format of the audio on the original DVD that you extracted the .VOB from?

I understand. I made uncompressed avi files to import to Windows Movie Maker. But a few months ago I could play them with no problem. Why can't I now?

Anyway, I'm not sure if I looked the right place but in DVD Decrypter it said "AC3/2ch/48kHz/DRC" for audio.

Do the "uncompressed .avis" you made a few months ago still play properly?

If so, please load one into GSpot and post the scren capture back here...

No, now they don't play either. That's weird...

A couple of months ago when these files were working I had Windows Media Player 10. Then I installed WMP 11. Today when I started having problems previewing videos in Windows Movie Maker and playing uncompressed avi files, I thought it might be due to the new version I had (because I had problems with it before) so I uninstalled it and now I'm back to WMP 10 and I still get a green screen with the uncompressed avi files which were working fine a couple of months ago.

Anyway, here's the codec info of one of the uncompressed avi files from a couple of months ago. BTW, thanks for helping me, really!

What is the source of this file? Fraps, for example, uses a proprietary codec for screen captures, and Fraps must be installed on the computer playing or editing the file.

@CWR03

In the initial post, the following is stated:I created uncompresed avi clips out of a vob file using VirtualDubMod

@Happii

1) You've posted a screen grab of the same file in Post#7 as you did in Post #3

2) Have you tried performing a "System Restore" back to the last date things were working properly?

1) I'm sorry, I haven't realized. Now I posted the correct screen cap.

2) No, I haven't and I don't know what it is or how to do it actually. Could you explain me, please?
