Hard telecined dvds

I've noticed many recent tv dvdsets have been hard telecined, such as sleeper cell, what i like about you, everybody loves raymond, scrubs.

Also some of them are very poorly hard telecined - rather than traditional 3:2 pulldown, some simply duplicate every fourth frame to get from 23.976 to 29.97.

Why do they do this?

This is because the guys working on these are dumb!
They are not so passionate as we are about near-perfect video & audio quality, they have little idea about what they're doing, they are given a "professional" machine and told to push some buttons :mad:
