I have the following in my HTPC system:
WinXP Pro, Auzentech xmystique that is SPDIF(Toslink) to my Yamaha 5.1 Stereo
Running the xMystique application to test my system results in the Yamaha recognizing the digital signal and every speaker outputs correctly.
I have backed up a dvd with dvdfabdecryptor and then compressed it with autogk 2.40 using XVID 1.1.2 and I have installed AC3Filter 1.11
But during playback of any movie whether it was compressed in Autogk with AC3 6ch or DTS 6ch, character voices are output equally across the center and the 2 front speakers, which makes it sound like the characters are in an echo chamber all the time.
I have tried many different settings in AC3Filter to try and correct it but nothing helps. Is it encoded wrong or is there something in the playback that is wrong?
