this has probably been brought up before, but i just want to point out something that really makes me mad as heck: recently, i have been getting all these junk mail in my hotmail account (which i must say is a total backstabber since i know they sell my email to advertisers, but i digress) and one particular one that keeps on showing up is Get free DVD's!. so i checked it out and behold, they are selling a divx making program for copying dvd's. what specific software i'm not sure. but the most ridiculous part is they charge $40 for something you can get free on this site!! and i must note that they say they will throw in a free psx copying program as well. man this really makes me mad!!! as part of the divx community, i think we should report those guys or do something, since they really tarnish divx in general. imagine, if the lawmakers catch on to this, they can shut down sites such as this one just because some goon wanted to rip off people by selling divx program! we should do something!

Ok, so u may have checked BUT - and correct me if im wrong -
theres nary a mention of divx anywhere on that page... so, um, what's the fuss ?? .....

It's actually rather vague about anything other than the fact that u can copy dvds onto cdr .... all very mysterious.
There was some "myth" (ie it may be true) going around that you could somehow burn dvd-r's in a conventional cd-r burner. Whilst this sounds like a load of bs to me id be really happy if this actually was true was true - but it couldnt be, could it ??

i read somewhere that hotmail is NOT selling your email adress to advertiser,but the advertisers are trying randomly generated hotmail adresses.
you can avoid this by using a longer name. worked for me :)

i read on another msgboard that dude trusted that scam and bought it.
all he got was url to a page that linked to dvd to vcd ripping tools from digital-digest and very basic guide how to use those programs.
"delux" version which cost more offered higher quality movies, which i assume either divx or svcd prgrms.
those scumbags must be exterminated. use something like spamcop.net to make their life harder
