I realize my error happened with VirtualDub, but it happens only when encoding using x264, so that's why I posted it here.
I use x264 DeathTheSheep vfw to encode, with VirtualDub 1.6.8 or 1.6.17 (error happens in both)
First pass is ok, it creates a proper stats file. (proper because I compared it with someone doing the same encoding it's the good size).
When starting second pass using the stats file VirtualDub shows:
"Cannot start video compression" (may be corrupt data) error code 100"
The input video file is ok because I reencoded it in xvid in smaller resolution.
I'm running Vista Ultimate (might be the cause?). This error happened to several people here but they were using xvid or else, and none saw his problem solved. Any ideas guys?
EDIT: I tried other version of x264 (rev.600 rev 655), other version of VirtualDub (1.6.8,1.7.1, vdubmod), I also tried encoding in XP using a virtual machine. Nothing gets me past that bug.
