Hello,

I have a matroska video with subtitle i use to play with MPlayer. The subtitle plays fine using option -sid 0.

Now i want to convert the file to avi with subtitles using Mencoder into avi or i want to dump the matroska subtitle to the sami subtitle format using Mplayer.

Why doing such a thing when i have a fine mkv file you may ask.
Answer: Thats the only 2 ways (i know) to make the matroska file playing on my pocket pc using TCPMP including the subtitles.

If you have any suggestions or tools other than Mplayer/Mencoder please let me know.

MKVextract GUI (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=73819)

or just by the command line if you don't use windows.

You'll need toolnix anyway, http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/
