1080p TS - Should I convert to 1080i or 720p?

I just ripped/decrypted my first Blu-ray movie using my PS3 and SAK. Then I converted the .m2ts to .TS.

The problem is, my Avel Linkplayer will only stream 1080i or 720p TS files to my TV so my question is:

1. Should I convert the 1080p TS file to 1080i or 720p and,
2. What's the quickest way to go about this?
