Heyho,

actually my problem has not really to do with encoding video but i guess here's the best place to ask. I have a mkv File here with h264 Video and AC3 (Dolby D 5.1) Audio. So I'd like to extract the Audiofile from the mkv File and use mkvExtract to do so. But at 65% ist just stops. When i look in the video what happens at the timecode when mkvextract stops there is a large artifact and it seems that the video jumps about 30 seconds in time. the video came from a rar file, that was extracted without any errors therefore the file should be okay. is there any chance to repair the file or get the audio out of it?

thanks in advance.

I don't know of tools to rebuild broken matroska frame headers. You're probably out of luck - the best bet will be to rerip or recreate the file. (Rars getting posted with corrupt files isn't that rare, like torrents being made from the same.)
