(This is my first post, BTW.)

I've been making backups of some movie DVD's I have. I use DVDFab Platinum or DVD Decrypter/ImgBurn and DVD+R or DVD+R DL media. Most of the backups work fine. But a curious thing is that a few of the backups will play on my PC just fine (via an optical drive and Power DVD software), but when I try to play them on my TV via my Sony DVD Player they won't play - I get an error message like "Disc is Dirty," which I don't believe is the case.

I wonder why this is, or if there is any solution?

Hi!

1) Please be specific - what are the Titles and Region(s) of the problematic original DVDs?

2) Have you used different brands of burnable media for the problematic DVDs versus those that are fine?

3) Are the problematic burns all DL burns? If so, what brand and format of DL media are you using?

I hope this additional info will help:

The DVD movies in question were backed up to Memorex DVD+R (DVD5) discs with LightScribe. There was no compression/shrinknig used, but some features and subtitles of the original DVD's were not copied. The backups were made using DVDFab Platinum 3.1.0.8.

That's about all I can add.

Thanks.

The questions I've asked you aren't difficult to answer...
