Gaming : nLited 2k3 rig, very nice and smooth - most enjoyable box to use
Workstation : PC-BSD 1.31 updated fully and recompiled most stuff for opt. Growing to really enjoy that box too... was a pain in the ass when I had Ubuntu stuck on it.
Family : nLited XP box, pain in the ass cos they cant stop breaking stuff... they are on nice limited user accounts now. grrr.
And OpenWRT/DD-WRT on my routers.

XP Pro SP2 on main AMD64 box, W2K SP4, DOS-98SE and EYRX on laptop. IMHO XP Pro (NT 5.1) is the best Win version so far. No opinion on Vista yet - have not used it (but my gut says "steer clear" for at least a year...)

IMHO XP Pro (NT 5.1) is the best Win version so far.
Server 2003 is better, IMHO. XP x64 is based on the 2003 code, which is why a lot of people praise it for its stability (though 64-bit drivers and compatibility are a whole different bag of issues).

OS X Leopard, plus XP and Ubuntu in VMWare. Best of all worlds, baby :D

I use nLiTED Win XP PRO SP2 with the latest updates + Linux MiNT v3.0.
I tried Ubuntu 5,6,7, Mandriva, PSLinuxOS, Fedora ...
IMHO Linux MiNT is the best distro that suits my everyday needs. For encoding audio/video I still use Windows, but who knows, maybe one day I'll switch to Linux :).
I'm very interested in a nLiTED Win2K3 configured as a workstation, there are mixed opinions on this subject. Is there any "really good" performance advantage of running Win2K3 over Win XP? Is it "really" more stable than XP?

*I* use OpenBSD as my primary desktop environment -- it has been mentioned as a router; I use it for that, also, along with web serving, mail serving, ftp serving, WiFi authentication, VPN, database engine, and a wide variety of security services .... if I can do it on OpenBSD .... I do.

I run Ubuntu on one platform for a specialized pair of apps...

I also have various platforms with various MS OS's on them. Yippy.
