I recently extracted 2 audio files in .WAV format from 2 different avi's. Im attempting to combine the 2 avi files but the audio ratea are different. I was wondering once they are extracted how i resample them to the same frequency? and then how to add them over 2 avi's? thanks!

SSRC is a great audio resample utility.

foobar2000 is a great audio utility that has very nice transcoding capabilities.

I'm betting that you have a 44.1 KHz audio stream in one file, and a 48 KHz stream in the other?

What compressed format is the audio? MP3? AC3? Probably one each? 2ch, 5.1ch?

they are .wav files and I tried using SSCR but i'm guessing it's a command utility?

Yes it is. The documentation should tell you how to use SSRC.

Hi!

For EACH of the files, do the following:

1) Load file into VirtualDub
2) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
3) Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
4) From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Compression"
5) Select, for example, 22,050Hz
6) From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Conversion"
7) If necessary, put a checkmark next to "Display all formats"
8) Select your preferred sampling rate from amongst the, for example, 22,050Hz .MP3 rates listed
9) Click on "OK"
10) Save with a new filename
