Hi,

I'm currently trying to convert a video to x264 on a dual-core CPU (Intel Core Duo). I've entered a number of 2 or even 4 in the "Threads" field, but it just won't use the entire CPU. The load doesn't exceed 50%. Anybody an idea what's going wrong? The x264 is a rather new build, max. a month old I guess. From the tutorials and other threads here I see that it's supported for years now.

I think the proper setup for MeGUI is:

Settings > untick automatically set threads

x264 config: threads=0

Something having to do with autodetection in MeGUI not working properly with x264 detection.......discussed long ago......still foggy.......

update to a newer revision, see if that helps. were at r655 now. if that doesnt help then you may want to look over one of the other active threads in this section (the one started by me) about x264's threading and it not running on full. id make sure your at the newest revision though first since there have been a decent amount of changes in x264 in the past month that could help you. also it helps to know your settings for further diagnosis.

X264 should be compiled only by GCC.
