Increasing AC3 Gain?

is there any way to increase the gain of ac3 audio files then mux them with the video so that they are louder in volume when played back on a standalone without effecting audio quality?

i use a program called mp3 gain to do the job for mp3 files and was hoping there was also another program/method like this for ac3 files.

Is not possible. The better way is increase the volume slider in audio equipment.

cheers, thanks for that. will just convert to mp3 audio insted now, may only get 2 channels but its better than having 5 channels that can;t be heard.
