Spamfilters are blocking forum(at)doom9.net

Just noticed that my ISP is blackmailing forum(at)doom9.net.
When I add it to the whitelist it works.
And on client side Spampal is blocking it to.
So again, putting it in the whitelist made it work.
Strange, the ISP and Spampal is recognizing it the same day.
Something fishy?:devil:
Did anyone else got into this?

I'm not sure about other forums, but I'd bet the forum mail notifier emits thousands of notifications daily. At some point it was sluggish as hell (some notifications arrived 5 days later). I personnally stopped using it and prefered monitoring my User CP from time to time ...

All this to say that any address that sends too many emails is bound to be suspicious. I guess any lazy sysadmin would do this sort of thing, unless he even programmed the pop server to do the job for him. The notifier probably sent one email too much one day and exceeded your ISP's threshold if you ask me, but nowadays ... the truth is out there :rolleyes:

Now, some antispam software(s) work via a "community database". So if someone decided to add forum[at]doom9.org to the blacklist (volontarily or "not"), any software/ISP using it will be affected.

Another explanation is that the notifier is hosted on a server with other smtp accounts/services, and that particular server got entirely banned because someone else used it to spam.
