hi :)
i have 2 videos of of an identical material but with different qualities and different languages (and different playback speed)
one is a high quality xvid avi video that has 25.000 fps and vbr mp3 audio (of a language i don't want) and it is 1296.960 second long
and the other is a low quality xvid avi video that has 25.000 fps and cbr mp3 audio (of a language i want) and it is 1281.855 second long

both videos are exactly the same material (i watched them back to back), except they are different in length (one plays slightly faster than the other)
all i want to do is to replace the audio track of the high quality video with the audio track (of the language i want) of the low quality video and get it to play in synchronise
i know how to extract and mux the audio to the video using VirtualDubMod
so basically the video is 1296.960 second long and the audio is 1281.855 second long
i don't want to re-encode the video and just want to stretch the audio from 1281.855 to 1296.960

i've heard that most of the free programs (such as Audacity, BeLight and AviSynth) that are able to stretch audio use SoundTouch (http://www.surina.net/soundtouch/index.html)

but i tried using Audacity (as it seemed the easier gui to me) to stretch the audio, but i've had no success :(

can anyone please tell me what program can i use to change the 1281.855 audio to 1296.960
and what exactly should i change tempo, pitch, speed, etc..
and what values or percentages should i use to change the 1281.855 audio to 1296.960
thanks in advance :thanks:

Hi!

After multiplexing the desired audiostream with the desired vidostream, load the new file into VirtualDub, VirtualDubMod, or NanDub.
Set BOTH "Video"(VirtualDub,
VirtualDubMod and NanDub) and "Audio"
(VirtualDub and NanDub - VirtualDubMOD>"Streams>"Stream
list") to "Direct Stream Copy".

From under the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Framerate" -
and select "Change so video and audio durations match"

Save with a new filename

Let us know of your success ;>}

You could use the timewarp function in goldwave to change the length of your audio to match the length of your video. I do this all the time but usually for 1 or 2 seconds increase /decrease over 1200-seconds. I'm not sure what streching it 15-seconds would sound like. However you can use goldwave to change the pitch and lots of other stuff it need be.

I still use CoolEdit 96 from time to time. It has that function, including a place for you to enter the length to which you'd like to stretch your final file, rather than calculate it. setarip_old's suggestion does sound simpler, though.
