That's right. That last major rippers are DVDFab and AnyDVD. AnyDVD has recently been updated (BETA) to handle the problem of loading corrupted copy-protections into DVD Shrink. So far it is a sucess.

DVDfab decrypter is also very frequently updated as well! Its continually getting better especially with the 3 release and its updates!

Was successful using RI4M.

Initially while processing on first attempt I got a "dirty/scratched disk" error. Removed the dvd and cleaned, reinserted and was unsuccessful on the retries. Rather than trying another program, I went ahead and deleted all the previous work and retried from scratch. Second attempt was successful.

Wife says will not play in stand alone player. To check integrity loaded into DVDX Player Pro and is playing just fine. When daughter gets done with stand alone will try it myself and post back. It would appear not to be a video file problem since it does play from HD.

Hi. I burnt DejaVu 2 weeks ago using ripit4me and it uses Dvd Dcrypter and FixVTS & Shrink and had no problems.

ImgBurn does not rip protected discs.

Really i didnt realize that it doesnt remove the protection...

So what does it do.. make a 1 to 1 copy with the original protection? or is it just a burning software?

While latest RI4M (1.7.1.0) was able to accomplish intended feat; it has encountered a problem. It does playback on a standalone player. At the very beginning of the rip it was checked for main movie only, on the copy playback during the course of the entire movie it interjects interviews with the producer, stunt artists, etc. The audio is not what the interviewees are saying but rather audio from the movie.
Not sure what the cause is but will be experimenting with the different (previous) versions of RI4M and other programs to see if it is new CPFormat Scheme or if it is the ripping program not remuxing to the correct cells.

1) Have you tried pressing the "Audio" (or "Languages") button on your remote control, to select a different audiostream?

2) If that doesn't work, you've likely selected ONLY the "Director's Commentary" audiostream (Usually a 2 channel stream as opposed to a 5.1 channel stream) when ripping the DVD - in which case, you should re-rip the DVD...

Never had this problem before, only on this particular DVD. From all appearances it would seem to be a cell referencing problem. Unable to experiment as will be away from the PC for a couple of weeks.

That's not the problem.

All rippers default to the longest movie on the disc. If you pick the 2h version instead of the 2h 15min or so the ripper picks as default everything will be perfect.

Happened to me as well and these director comments during the movie are quite annoying. :)

For "DejaVu", you must be referring to the 2:43 "Surveillance Window" version, as opposed to the 2:06 primary movie version...

Hi!

With regard to this SPECIFIC DVD, the longest "movie"/title is an expanded (both video and audio, not simply "Director's Commentary") version of the movie itself - and most, if not all, ripping programs assume that the longest title on a DVD is the primary movie.

Therefore, in this PARTICULAR instance, if you choose to rip "movie-only", without re-directing the ripping programto the correct Title, you'll wind up with the "Surveillance Window" expanded version, rather than the conventional movie...

rip the entire dvd with ripitforme to hd then fixvts. If ripitforme gives errors but the rip goes to 100 percent ignore it. Finally use dvdshrink in reauthor mode to pick title 1 which is the movie only version.

The simplest way is to read the "Approximate running time" on either the DVD label or package. This should be the running time of the primary/standard movie...

As you can see it was not an audio or audiostream problem, but simply an incorrect title selection. In regards to your (Being away from your PC) comment, as you were unaware that being away from my PC also meant being away from a stand alone player in this particular case was uncalled for as in a lot of other posts.
I have been following your posts for quite some time; at some times you are helpful, as in the posts that follow later in this thread once you become knowledgable of the problem, but at other times you have a tendency to run at the mouth as if asking for flame replies as in the above quote. A lot less problems if you leave the moderating to the mods and drop your inciting comments.
BTW, I do now have a working copy, thanks to the other posts. I like a few other people became complacient with the wizard or one click mode making the decisions for us rather than studing it first. :thanks: to the others who posted for the correction to this perplexing problem.
