I'm trying to understand how Premiere Pro 2 handles decompression and compression.
1. Does Premiere Pro 2 use VfW or DirectShow for decompression and compression?
2. What codec does it use to decompress DV video?
3. What is the default codec for doing compression? (export Movie) -- it looks like it uses the Microsoft DV codec. But I had heard the MainConcept DV codec is built into Premiere Pro. Is that true?
4. What is a better codec to install and use for exporting movies? (where the final output will be a DVD.) Actually if the MPEG-2 encoder is chosen (as it needs to be for DVD) then is a DV codec or the MPEG-2 codec used to render transitions and titles?
