View Full Version : Discontinued Tools And Other Software - What Are The Most Up To Date Versions?

Hi Folks, It's been a while since my first post, I hope everybody is keeping well?

With all that has been happening lately with regards to DMCA takedown notices and the threats of legal action which often results in the sudden unavailability of the software we use, I think that it might be a good idea to have a fairly comprehensive list of DVD ripping / backup software and associated tools which states the latest most up to date version of the software that still is or was available - I think this would serve as a handy reference for anyone who might need to update their DVD toolset with the latest versions of the various applications before they disappear.

Regards,

The Thing.

A few threads down you would have seen this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=125061). And in the sticky (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=113179).

Hi linx05, thanks for replying.

I am aware of both blutach's sticky and michaelhill's thread, but the point I was trying to make is that I feel it would be a bit more informative (especially for newbies like myself) if the most up to date version numbers of the software could be listed along with the application's current status.

Something along the lines of the following perhaps:

[Application Name]
- Some Useful App

[Most Up To Date Version Available]
- 1.2.5.0

[Current Status]
- Discontinued Due To Legal Threats / Abandoned By Author / Regularly Updated, etc, etc.

Thanks for reading folks.
