Plextor has something that'll hardware-encode video into MPEG4, but it doesn't appear to do ATSC:

There are a few devices out there that actually can do ATSC, but they don't encode to MPEG4:

Are there any devices that can receive ATSC signals and that have hardare MPEG4 compression?

Also, for the Plextor thing... when it says it encodes in MPEG4, what does that mean? Will it save it into a *.avi that can be played back with by simply using the XviD or DivX 6 codec? Or will it be some proprietary format that can't be edited with tools like VirtualDub?
