Hi all!
I am VERY new to DVB so i dont know if my question will sound silly or not. Anyway...
I want to know of a software to create a single program transport stream which will contain the subtitles in DVB bitmap format.
Thats exactly what i have been asked from a client of mine.
I have the video in QT uncompressed format and the subtitles in .srt format. My problem is how to join those 2 in a format like i told u before.
Thanx in advance!

ok. Let me rephrase it cause maybe i wasnt too clear.
I am asked to create an H.264 program stream file which will contain subtitles. Subtitle track(s) must be provided separately from video but in the same transport stream (DVB subtitling).DVB subtitling must be included as bitmap data.
Can u tell me how to create an H.264 program stream like this?
For the video encoding i use Mainconcept but i am stuck in the subtitling issue.
Thanx all!

Maybe Elecard Xmuxer Pro can do it.

well, i saw Elecard Xmuxer Pro but it didnt help.
I am curious to find how they create those files...is there a special hardware for that job?
Thanx anyway.

Maybe DVDSupTools will be helpful. It can convert from sup to bitmap and I believe there is a tool to do the opposite, to convert from bitmap to sup. But putting that back into the transport stream I do not know how to do.
Checking the docs
DVDSupEncode.exe converts text file in MicroDVD player format into sup-file

well, i know how to create the bitmaps and the control text but i dont know in what format DVB needs it (e.g. sup, srt, stl etc.) and i dont know how to join those video and bitmaps.
It seems harder to find than i thought...

Hello to all,
I tried the Demo FAB sw and looks ok the DVB subtitles in the sample movie that I trie, at least in VLC, the the subtitle option appears and the display it's ok.
I have a dout, I'm not 100% positive if this test it's ok. I made some analyzes and the PID appears, but using the xmuxerpro it only appears the audio and video.
My question is:
it's suppose to have 2 or 3 streams when using DVB sub?
thanks
A typical DVB SPTS (Single program Transport Stream) usually has like:
1 Video PID
1 MP2 Stereo Audiotrack marked with a language tag : IE NOR=Norway
1 AC3 5.1 Audiotrack marked with a language tag : IE NOR=Norway
1 or more DVB Subtitle tracks marked with a language tag: IE NOR=Norway.
-------------------------
U can often find SPTS's with 2-3 Audiotracks and many more dvb sub's too.. Example is many of the scandinavian channels that are common for norway, sweeden and denmark.
Here u have 1 Video Pid, 3 audio pids, 3 subtitle pids.
Muxing:
Usually the RT encoders mux the complete SPTS, and one can use a multitude of transmuxers to put together a MPTS (multiprogram transport stream) for uplinking to sattellite.. (dvb-s1/s2)
