So there's a new Hex Code going around and it unlocks all the content on Blu Ray \ HD-DVD movies, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it here, but if you know what I'm talking about I just simply want to ask:

Can I rip the Video files from HD-DVD \ Blu Ray without a Blu Ray \ HD DVD drive with the hex code?

also, if you can how would I go about doing this? Do I still need a ripper program also? Like do I put the disc in, run dvd-descriptor, then run hex enter code somewhere then hit descript?

How would you propose to access the disk without a drive capable of reading it?
A microscope, a calculator, and a lot of time?

I'd give the disk to someone that did have a drive that could access it.

2 minutes of reading the stickies, that's just what it takes to get answers. Some people are just to lazy to read...

I love it when people believe that a magically hexcode will turn their old dvd drive into a brand new HD-DVD/BluRay combodrive ... sigh ...

Well to be fair, some drives can have more features added by firmware hacking. But no plain DVD drive is going to become an HD-DVD or Blu-ray drive by hacking alone, the hardware is different.

Oh yea??!! My DVD drive becomes a cup holder with the mere press of a button. If I can do that, who are you to say I can't make my DVD drive read HD-DVD's and Blu-ray's? HAH!
