I have recently downloaded some AVI files of a television series. I want to clip off the Intros and credits from each, which I can easily do. But the problem is that when I do, the keyframe and a few other frames just before where i cut are included in the final output. If there is a easy fix to force where i cut to be a keyframe then thats great!

But if there isn't, I'm fine with reencoding the whole thing. My only question with that is what are the best settings for XviD to keep the audio and video as close to the original as possible.

thanks

Hi!I have recently downloaded some AVI files of a television series. You might want to RE-read the "Announcement" at the top of the "Newbies" sub-forum, as well as all of the Forum Rules (particularly #6)...

I'm sorry, these are legal, I paid for them and they came in avi format.

Sorry, I wanted to respond to this sooner, but: As mentioned in the previously linked announcement, we can't be the arbiters of legality when the vast majority of downloadable avis are illegal. (Even if that's slowly changing.) Particularly of a 'TV series', where almost all the legal pay-for downloads are encrypted iTunes mp4. The only way we can help with downloads is when you point us directly to the file in question in a manner such that legality can be determined. I'm sorry that it might be strict, but it's Doom9's decision to keep the topic off-limits.
