im trying to rip * romeo must die * DVD into a
single CD Avi. file .. but always it exceeds 1 GIG Size
How do i .. make it so file size is smaller ???

Hi,

You should provide a bit more infomation about you're methods ur using to encode ur dvd so ppl can help.

The easiest way is too just lower the bitrates (obviously :).

If you're getting really wierd results - say you massively lowered the bitrate and the file is still 1gig, ensure that u have the correct codecs installed for the method ur using. nandub for one does wierd things when u encode using the divx 4 codec instead of divx 3.

btw: gordian knot provides pretty damn good filesize prediction (like you want one cd, you enter 699 as the cd size u want and that the size of your final avi file)...as well as being pretty easy. Guide at doom9 of course.

1) You're no more "important" than anyone else.
2) You haven't read the guides or read them very insufficiently.
3) You haven't read the forum rules or are not following them.

And I could go on and on about what you should have done before posting and when posting, but I'll just close this.
