Hi all, I have never posted here before because I’ve always been able to find the answers to my questions doing a search. This time however I believe I have a unique situation. With my recent addition of a lot more hard drive space I decided to back up DVDs that I would never have considered before. The problem is the one I didn’t expect.
The week that “Friends” went off the air I purchased, through Ebay, the complete box set with all ten seasons from China. Nothing even close was available in the US, but you know how poor these bootlegs can be, only 4 of the 10 seasons would even play. Of course by the time I figured it out, about three weeks after winning them and about a day after receiving them, the seller was “No longer a registered user” which meant Ebay didn’t have to honor it’s fraud protection coverage. So I decided to keep the set and call it a collectors item since there are so many flaws in the disc and the box cover, there are no less than parts of 4 different movies in the description, four of the six characters photos have the wrong name, it list the special features from “Ghost of Mars” and gives credit to both Warner Brothers and HBO films, and that’s the short list.
Ok, enough pointless rambling. My problem is that when I try to copy the DVDs that do play to my hard drive it locks up my computer. I’ve been using DVD decrypter and it’s never had a problem with anything I've thrown at it before. It says there is no copyright protection even though the box says there is, but DVD43 and Easy DVD Clone don’t see any either and also locked up why trying to use them.
Maybe the Macrovision people need to look at what ever the Chinese are doing, their method seems to work a lot better.
