Hi, I'm wondering if the ability to use custom matrices (as set in "Advanced (Expert) Options") could be added to DVD-RB when using OPV/CQ. Specifically, for HCEnc, since I don't own the commercial CCE which RB-Opt works with. I tried the latest RB-Opt 0.27 with HCEnc, but it still grayed out all the options to reassign bitrates, Q values, matrices, etc.
So, any chance of adding this ability? And thanks to jdobbs for a great piece of software and great support.

Right, the info I found is that it isn't possible with DVD-RB as-is, since it always uses an encoders default matrix when doing OPV/CQ. That's why I'm asking if this capability could be added.

Ah yeah, didn't see it (wasn't looking for it, heh). Thanks.

Read a little further. The reason custom matrices aren't used with OPV is because it makes prediction virtually impossible and the output sizing get tremendously erratic. Since prediction/time-savings is the only real reason for OPV, it would be inadvisable to cause it to fail -- for that reason matrix selection was purposefully removed for OPV.

Ah, even when the custom matrix is used for the prediction passes it's still unreliable? Interesting. Thanks.
