View Full Version : Interlaced playback corruption with VMR9

Hi,

If I set WMP10 to use VMR9 and set the DivX decoder to have both de-interlacing and the advanced hardware overlay enabled then interlaced material bascially won't play and looks like this:

The sound is ok.

If I keep WMP10 to be VMR9 and de-interlacing enabled, but disable advanced hardware overlay then no problems- although the quality doesn't look particularly good. If I change WMP10 to use overlay, no problems with having both de-interlacing and the advanced hardware overlay enabled- quality is much better.

What's going on with VMR9 and advanced hardware overlay enabled?

Of the two deinterlacing methods available in the DivX decoder:

1) De-interlacing is enabled but the advanced hardware overlay is disabled
2) De-interlacing and the advanced hardware overlay are both enabled, de-interlacing

The first looks way better (at least in overlay mode)!
BTW: I have the 93.71 Nvidia Forceware drivers installed.

Thanks for any help!

I think with my limited knowledge and a few searches on Google I have figured it out...

The advanced hardware overlay setting being enabled in the DivX decoder only works in overlay mode. When being used in "forced" VMR9 mode by WMP10 then it basically sends a corrupt image to the screen.
