Anyway to cap from a set top box?

hi. i was just wondering if there is anyway to cap tv (hdtv or pdtv) from a set top box? i have a hd set top box not far from my main comp and would love to cap from it, but i have no idea how, or if its even possible.

basically, what alternatives are there if you dont/cant cap from ota signals?

I guess it depends on the box. I have a Motorola and can just stream through the firewire port.
It would really help if you'd add what make/model you have.
