EVO audio filter?

I see how to use ffdshow to play EVO files in MPC. The audio is another matter. MPC is not reporting any audio channels when I load an EVO but they are there, WMP11 will play them. I'm looking for a DS filter that will work with MPC and ffdshow. Where is such a beast found?

Well, this is odd. AviSynth does seem to load the audio but MPC won't show it. I've got AC3 Filter installed and also ffdshow's AC3 is enabled. A short test of re-encoding the output shows MPC will play that. Maybe MPC chokes on audio if the video bitrate is super high. WMP11 does play the audio but it's all out of speed and the whole playback is choppy.

What audio format are you attempting to play in the EVO?

DD+ and TrueHD only seem to be supported by the specific HD/BD players, which are generally not exposed as dshow filters.

If by re-encoding, you mean stripping DD+ or DTS-HD back to core, then it doesn't surprise me that worked. The difficulty is playing back native DD+, DTS-HD and TrueHD, which may not be supported currently by AC3filter or ffdshow.

Cineplayer 4.2 are dshow filters and are supposed to play some of the HD/BD audio formats. Whilst I managed to get the Cineplayer demuxer to select required audio tracks, I had difficulty getting the audio filter to connect and/or play.

I'm not sure if these filters are compatible with MPC.

Ah, you are correct. I just checked and the 2-channel audio which was giving me fits is Dolby Digital Plus. Darn it. That might explain some of the muxing problems I'm having.

You can playback DD+ Audio perfect with SonicCinemasterAudiDecoder 4.2 in any Dshow Player

Haali MediaSplitter can play mkv with DD+ too via Sonic

For SPDIF Output simply add AC3Filter behind Sonic
