Letters "shimmer" after encode to DVD

I made a title sequence for a friend's movie, and it has some parts where letters drift across the screen with the cast's names.

I exported it and open the uncompressed file, and it's nice and crisp, however when I encode it with CCE, the letters sort of shimmer as they float across the screen.

The only reason I can think of is the font is rather narrow, and that's causing some issues, but I can't figure out a way to stop it. I've tried multiple pass encoding, switching field orders, deinterlacing, but no matter what the clean input comes out looking considerable worse in motion.

Can someone help me with what I'm doing wrong?

They're compositions created entirely from After Effects and exported as uncompressed AVI's. I bring them in to CCE and encode that to an mpv file (720 x 480 resolution - the credits are independent from the film right now).

I attached a before and after encoding. Notice how sharp and clear the letters are, but when encoded they edges are blurry and it ripples when it plays.

Instead of CCE, try using (freeware) DVD Flick to:

1) Join the .AVIs (Load first .AVI [title sequence] and then select "Edit" to then add the second .AVI [video] to make ONE title)

2) Convert to DVD format (Select "Two-pass")
