I'm testing the parameter with two script

MPEG2Source("t.d2v",upConv=2)
ConvertBackToYUY2()
ConvertToRGB32()

and

MPEG2Source("t.d2v)
ConvertToRGB32()

The two resulting frames (same frame numbers) are different in the color palette.

The first has the impression of brightness, making red more orange and green little more saturated compared to the second script (wich viceversa has red saturated and green less saturated).

What's going on?

ConvertBacktoYUY2() is not applicable, as the video was never previously in YUY2 space. That's because it's in YV12 in the source and upConv=2 converts to RGB. So it never was in YUY2.

Is this just academic or are you trying to accomplish something in particular?

But, neuron, DVD frames are not stored in YUY2 format? :confused:

I'm not Neuron, but no, DVD's use the YV12 colorspace :)

YUV 4:2:2 as for UYVY but with different component ordering within the u_int32 macropixel.

While YV12 is 4:2:0

I don't know what's going on here, but I think that (1) and (2) should be the same (assuming that the clip is encoded as progressive).

Post screenshots of 1,2,3 which show your problem.
